SAS70 Compliance

Neural Technologies acknowledges the EU Directive 95/46/EC for the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and intends to be fully compliant with the necessary international standards for such data security.

To comply with security compliance directives, Neural Technologies is committed to complying with the SAS 70 standard.

Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) No. 70, Service Organizations, is a widely recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  A service auditor's examination performed in accordance with SAS No. 70 ("SAS 70 Audit") is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organisation has been through an in-depth audit of their control objectives and control activities, which often include controls over information technology and related processes.

As a Service Provider, Neural Technologies is committed to providing all the necessary controls and safeguards relating to the processing and storage of Customer information associated with the SAS70 standard.

The undertaking of regular ongoing independent SAS 70 Type II audits will ensure that Neural Technologies is maintaining up to date policies and procedures, and appropriate controls as technology and business needs change.

In today's global economy, service organisations or service providers must demonstrate that they have adequate controls and safeguards when they host or process data belonging to their customers.  In addition, the requirements of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 make SAS 70 audit reports even more important to the process of reporting on the effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting.

Neural Technologies has a comprehensive security policy that covers controls on all parts of the business, including:

Physical Security

• 24 x 7 on-site security
• Door access controls at site and building entrances
• Proximity cards to authorise access levels, including mantrap access
• External and internal CCTV and digital image archiving
• Intruder detection alarms

Fire Detection & Suppression

• Three-stage fire detection systems in all plant areas
• VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus)
• Fire detection in all rooms, below raised floors and in ceiling voids
• Double interlocked pre-action gas suppression to technical areas
• Fire detection and suppression systems interconnected to central monitoring system
• Fire alarms and wet pipe sprinkler systems in ancillary areas
• Gas suppression systems using Argonite or Inergen
• Gas extraction, ventilation and pressure relief system

Building Management System

• Power monitoring and building monitored systems to provide alarms
• Dedicated in-house 24 x 7 facilities management team
• Planned preventative maintenance programmes
